Baxter Healthcare’s $2.5m compounding facility opens at the Australian Cancer Centre
The Hon. John Hill, MP, Minister for Health has today officially opened a new $2.5 million compounding pharmacy facility, which will supply chemotherapy and IV nutritional products to patients throughout South Australia.
The TGA accredited facility is operated by Baxter Healthcare Pty Ltd who has been supplying the much needed medications and therapies in Australia for over 20 years. The company's latest investment, employs close to 20 people, is located within the Australian Cancer Centre and can service all public and private hospitals within South Australia.
David Akeroyd, Managing Director Baxter ANZ says: "compounding cancer medications and nutrition therapies is one of our core competencies. This new facility will allow us to service hospitals in SA better, with faster turnaround times for Oncologists, Pharmacists and patients."
Baxter Pharmacy Services is the first fully TGA licensed facility in South Australia capable of providing a complete range of aseptically compounded IV preparations, including cytotoxic (chemotherapy), analgesic, antibiotic and IV parenteral nutrition solutions
